Alpro Funds

Alpro Funds Management Limited [AFML] provides management services to the Alpro range of funds domiciled in Ireland.

Its website – www.alpro-funds.com - serves the funds’ investors by publishing regular monthly performance updates. Both the back-end and the front-end of the previous website had suffered from a number of usability issues which AFML invited us to address in the redesign.

What they asked us to do

The existing website which we were asked to redesign contained all the functionality that AFML required. We were asked, however, to improve the user experience and graphic design of the website for both the front and back ends.

Monthly updates were being carried out by publishing a complex Excel file to the website; the data contained within this Excel file was then converted for HTML and PDF presentation. This process had to remain the same.

We redesigned the front-end, ensuring that access to the all-important monthly updates was far more immediate for the group of investors. The backend was the more complex part of the job. We built a new user management module, enhanced the usability of the publishing engine significantly and added several new controls to help AFML staff to manage their updates efficiently.

Client Feedback

“We handed Xwerx a complex, bespoke publishing engine that converted Excel files to HTML and PDF format and asked them what they could do to improve it.

Their analytical approach to providing a creative solution for us was exceptional. They have developed a public website and backend publishing engine that are simple to use and a significant improvement on what we had. Their follow-up support during the initial months following site launch was excellent. ”

Project Highlights

The highlights here are definitely the parts under the hood. Improving the user experience was a key objective when building this system – the result was a responsive interface and an intuitive document publishing module.

Google Charts are used extensively to visualise performance data at the front-end. Demonstrations of the full system are available upon request.
